Palm III, IIIe, IIIx, IIIxe Screen Removal and Disassembly Instructions
Here are a couple of steps that you need to do before starting
these instructions:
- Back up your data and applications
- Remove the batteries
- Remove the stylus pen

STARTING THIS PROCEDURE*

Before doing anything to your Palm, remember
to HotSync your unit and back up.
THIS PROCEDURE COULD VOID YOUR WARRANTY OR DAMAGE
YOUR UNIT. CHECK WITH PALM FIRST.

Step 1
Remove the four screws on the back of the unit.

Step 2
Carefully remove the back from the case being careful not to
break the little plastic tabs that hold the case together.

Step 3
VERY carefully loosen the ribbon cable by carefully pulling
out the two tabs. (The tabs are easily broken )

Step 4
Carefully pull out the ribbon cable.
|
|
|
Step 5
There are 3 or 4 tabs that hold the back plastic frame and motherboard.
You need to carefully separate the bottom plastic frame from
the tabs as you pull up.
You can now remove the motherboard and plastic frame.

Step 6
The screen may now be removed.
|
|
|
Step 7
The ribbon must to be bent/curved so the stylus
can go by it.
Reverse these instructions to install the new screen .
